PHOENIX — Locally owned Mexican restaurant Mesquite Fresh Street Mex plans to open its eighth Arizona location on Aug. 28 in north Phoenix.
The new 1,930-square-foot restaurant, located at 1730 W. Happy Valley Road, will feature a spacious dining room with ample seating and a drive-thru, according to a press release.
“Northwest Phoenix is a thriving area with strong businesses, services and a great community around it,” Ahmad Alatrash, co-founder of Mesquite Fresh Street Mex, said in the release.
“We look forward to connecting with residents and sharing our authentic meets modern Mexican concept with the neighborhood.”
The first 200 guests when the new location opens at 10:30 a.m. will receive one free taco a week for six months, according to the release. The grand opening will also include other giveaways of branded materials and surprises.
The restaurant is also looking to hire 30 employees for the new Phoenix location, joining 150 people that work at the company’s other locations.
Founded by brothers Naser and Ahmad Alatrash in 2015 under the former name Mr. Mesquite, Mesquite Fresh Street Mex uses real Mesquite wood chips to give the fresh meat a unique and smoky flavor, according to the release.
The menu features authentic street tacos, burritos, protein bowls, quesadillas, frescas and family meal kits.
The new location marks the fourth to open in the last year, with more on the horizon, according to the release.
Mesquite Fresh Street Mex already has two existing Phoenix locations plus restaurants in Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, Surprise and Gilbert.
