PHOENIX — Phoenix police on Sunday arrested a 34-year-old man who allegedly shot and killed three family members in his home following an altercation with his brother, authorities said.

The suspect was identified as Brandon Lujan.

Officers performed a welfare check near 32nd Street and Thomas Road and found the bodies of Lujan’s father, mother and brother, police said in a press conference.

Lewis Lujan, 63, Irene Lujan, 56, and Mathew Lujan, 30, were believed to have been dead for some hours.

Detectives learned a fight between Brandon and Mathew escalated to Brandon shooting his brother, police said. Afterwards, he shot his parents, police said.

Police said Lujan admitted to someone that he had shot his family members and was arrested at the location where he allegedly admitted to the killings.

No additional information was made available. The investigation is ongoing.
