Phoenix police looking for suspect after man is killed outside apartment

PHOENIX — The Phoenix Police Department is looking for a suspect after a man was found dead from a gunshot wound outside of an apartment Friday night, authorities said.

Police responded to the area near Broadway Road and 28th Street around 10 p.m. about a reported shooting at an apartment complex.

Promise Jones, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

Preliminary information leads police to believe Jones was shot after an altercation by a suspect known to him.

Police have no viable suspect description.
