PHOENIX — A Florida man was sentenced to 35 years in federal prison Tuesday following a guilty plea on child pornography charges in Arizona and other states, authorities said.
Jeremy McCown, 39, of Wesley Chapel, Florida, pleaded guilty to 14 counts of production of child pornography, including 12 in Arizona, in January 2020.
McCown was arrested on January 31, 2019, after an investigation found he repeatedly placed online ads seeking models in exchange for money.
McCown then would demand sexually explicit images from the women and minor children who responded, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office from the District of Arizona.
In one instance, McCown convinced a woman to send sexually explicit images of her 1-year-old daughter. He also manipulated two other minors into sending sexually explicit images to him, according to the release.
McCown, who also pleaded guilty in Minnesota and South Carolina, was ordered to pay restitution to victims depicted in the child sex abuse images he produced.
He will also be required to register as a sex offender and be placed on lifetime supervised release after his term ends.
A Tucson Police Department Crimes Against Children detective worked on the investigation with the FBI.
