PHOENIX – Downtown Mesa is cooking up a socially distanced outdoor dining scene complete with live music and food delivery service.
Last month, the city debuted its al Fresco Off Main area, a fenced-off block at Macdonald and Main streets where diners can sit at spaced-out tables to enjoy meals purchased at nearby restaurants.
To mitigate the spread of the coronavirus, hand sanitizer and wipes are available throughout the area, and staff keeps the chairs and tables clean.
Al Fresco Off Main will be open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. through April.
On Thursday, the free Downtown Dash delivery service was added to the mix. Visitors can now order and pay for food on their phones and have it delivered to their tables during designated times.
The delivery service will operate Thursdays-Sundays for lunch at 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and dinner at 4-7:30 p.m.
On top of that, live music performances will take place during the Thursday lunchtime hours of the delivery service and for lunch and dinner Fridays and Saturdays.
