ClearSky Health opening rehabilitation hospital in Avondale

PHOENIX — National rehabilitation hospital company ClearSky Health is coming to Avondale in 2022.

The company announced on Tuesday that it will be opening a a 43,000-square-foot hospital with 30 beds near 109th Avenue and McDowell Road in the West Valley.

The facility, which will include private rooms, a rehabilitation gym, dining room and daily living spaces, will take around 13 months to construct, according to a company press release.

The facility will be tailored to treat those living with disabling injuries and diseases, including strokes, brain injuries, hip fractures, spinal injuries, multiple sclerosis and COVID-19.

The company said it will be breaking ground on the hospital complex in April, with the facility eventually hosting upwards of 650 patients a year.

ClearSky Health CEO Darby Brockette said the company’s decision to open a facility in Avondale stemmed from the unmet need for inpatient rehabilitative services

“We feel with our proven expertise and knowledge, we can make a positive impact on the community by providing services that individuals would otherwise have to leave the area to receive,” Brockette said in the release.

The Avondale facility will be ClearSky Health’s first in Arizona, joining their rehabilitation hospitals in Texas, Louisiana and New Mexico.
