PHOENIX — The holiday season lasted a tad longer than usual this year for Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
The hospital announced on Friday that Spirit Halloween’s Spirit of Children Foundation donated $176,210 for the facility.
The funds were collected via Spirit Halloween’s 20-plus pop-up locations across Arizona.
The foundation, which was founded by the company in 2007, has given $1.2 million to Phoenix Children’s Hospital to date.
The donations help fund the hospital’s Child Life Department, which focuses on the healing power of playtime for children at the facility.
The donations also fund sensory, educational and entertainment items that can help distract young patients during procedures and hospital stays.
Additionally, donation funds have helped the hospital build playrooms, teen lounges and family spaces for extended stays in the facility.
