PHOENIX — ASU Gammage on Monday released an updated Broadway season schedule with the hope of taking the stage later this year.

The award-winning musical stage hit “Hamilton” will go on from Sept. 8 to Oct. 3 after being rescheduled last year, along with Disney’s “The Lion King” returning to ASU Gammage in the Summer of 2022 after being canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“Mean Girls” will take place after Hamilton closes from Oct. 19 to 24, rescheduled from Aug. 31 to Sept. 5.

The season opens on Aug. 17 with Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Oklahoma!” from Aug. 17 to 22.

Other shows include “My Fair Lady” (Dec. 7 to 12); “The Band’s Visit” (Feb. 8 to 13, 2022); “Tootsie” (March 15 to 20, 2022); “Hadestown” (April 19 to 24, 2022) and “Come From Away” (June 14 to 19, 2022).

Disney’s “Frozen,” “To Kill a Mockingbird” and “Jersey Boys” were not able to be rescheduled during the season, according to the press release.

Tickets are not currently available to the general public, with an announcement coming later on when tickets can be purchased.

Current season tickets will be transferred to the new series with no additional cost, according to the press release.

People can expect health protocols when ASU Gammage open their doors again, including wearing a mask while in the building.

Staff will also wear masks and have their temperature checked prior to starting their shift, along with sanitizing of ticket scanners and high touch point areas.

The protocols will continue to evolve as the date of reopening approaches.

We want to hear from you.
