3 people taken to hospital after crash on northbound 101 in West Valley

PHOENIX — The northbound lanes of the Loop 101 Freeway at Interstate 10 reopened around 8:45 p.m. Saturday after a multi-vehicle crash at Thomas Road shut it down for more than an hour and a half.

Seven people were involved in the crash, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.
A 52-year-old man and 58-year-old woman were transported to the hospital in critical condition, while a 15-year-old girl was in stable condition.
The four other people involved were evaluated at the scene.
Traffic was being directed to exit at Thomas Road and re-enter at Indian School Road, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Another crash on the southbound lanes at Thomas Road was blocking one lane of traffic as of 7:50 p.m., but that direction of the freeway remained open.
