Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon canceled in 2021 due to coronavirus

PHOENIX — One of the Valley’s signature events to kick off a new year has been canceled in 2021 due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon announced Friday the 2021 marathon and half-marathon would not take place as originally scheduled for Jan. 16 and 17 based on internal evaluation and discussions about the viability of hosting the event.
The event is expected to return on Jan. 15 and 16 of 2022.
Participants registered in the event will receive an email with further details, according to the release.
The Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon is just one of many Arizona events canceled due to the pandemic.
Other canceled in-person events include the Arizona State Fair, Ironman Arizona, Tempe Festival of the Arts and Pat’s Run.
