PHOENIX — Drivers heading north should “expect extreme delays” on Interstate-17 between Anthem and Black Canyon City, the Arizona Department of Transportation said on Saturday morning.
An earlier crash near milepost 237, along with usual weekend traffic, is causing the heavy backup.

ADOT recommends delaying travel, if possible, or taking an alternate route.
There is no estimated time for the congestion to clear, with ADOT saying it could be “a while.”
The southbound lanes are unaffected.
