32-year-old man dies in shooting, Phoenix police search for suspect

PHOENIX — Phoenix police are searching for a suspect after a 32-year-old man was killed in a shooting in Phoenix on Friday afternoon.
Officers first responded to a strip mall parking lot near 75th Avenue and Thomas Road around 3:30 p.m. after receiving multiple calls of shots being fired. Upon arrival, there was no victim, but evidence of a shooting.
Minutes later, officers were then called to an area near the intersection of 83rd Avenue and Thomas Road where they found 32-year-old Anthony Hainsworth inside a vehicle with a gunshot injury.
Hainsworth was transported to the hospital in critical condition where he later died, according to police.
There is currently no suspect description as the investigation into the incident is underway. Officers say there is indication the victim is involved in criminal activity.
