PHOENIX — Ivanka Trump will return to Phoenix on Sunday for a campaign event, the latest in a long string of recent visits for the Trump campaign in the battleground state.
Trump will host the event, billed as a conversation with supporters of President Donald Trump, at 4 p.m. on Sunday.
The location of the event was unknown as of Friday afternoon.
“Under President Trump’s leadership, Arizona is leading the Great American Comeback for the country,” Ivanka said in an email from the Trump campaign.
“The enthusiasm we are seeing for President Trump and his America First Agenda is at an all-time high and I am excited to once again be back in this great state to highlight the president’s accomplishments during these past four years.”
Ivanka Trump most recently visited Arizona on Sept. 14 when she hosted a campaign event with Gov. Doug Ducey in Phoenix.
Prominent members of Trump’s campaign, including Vice President Mike Pence, have since traveled to Arizona in hopes of swaying residents to vote for the sitting president.
Pence was in Peoria on Thursday for an event.
Democratic nominee Joe Biden and running mate Sen. Kamala Harris also were in metro Phoenix on Thursday, their first visit to Arizona during the election cycle.
President Trump had planned to appear in Arizona earlier this week, but that was canceled along with all his other scheduled campaign stops after he tested positive for COVID-19 last week.
He will host a rally Monday in Florida, his first since his coronavirus diagnosis.
A New York Times-Siena College poll released Monday found Biden to be leading Trump by 8 percentage points in the Grand Canyon State.
The same pollsters released results on Sept. 20 showing Biden ahead of the Republican president by 9 percentage points in Arizona.
Biden’s lead was 3.7 points in FiveThirtyEight.com’s average of all Arizona polls as of Friday.
