PHOENIX — With no Arizona State Fair this year because of the coronavirus pandemic, fair lovers now will have the option of experiencing a tasty alternative.
The fair is offering its fried fun to-go drive-thru food event for two weekends at the fairgrounds, located near 19th Avenue and McDowell Road in central Phoenix.
The event will be available from Sept. 25-27 and Oct. 2-4 from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.
All food items will be made to be eaten in a car or at home, and all service will be drive-up.
A menu of foods and a map for the event will be available soon, according to the fair’s website.
The fair, which runs annually, was set to kick off Oct. 8 but was canceled in August.
Fair officials expect the event to return in 2021 and said it would start Oct. 7 and end Oct. 31.
Fair attendance surpassed 1.2 million in 2019, the highest total seen in more than a decade.
