Greenlee County in Arizona reports zero active coronavirus cases

PHOENIX – Greenlee County in southeastern Arizona reported zero active coronavirus cases for the second consecutive day on Wednesday.
The county’s health department has reported a total of 58 coronavirus cases and 2 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
The county, which first reported no active cases on Tuesday, has conducted 1,212 coronavirus tests, with eight currently pending.
On Wednesday, Arizona health officials reported 695 new coronavirus cases and 27 additional deaths, bringing the state totals to 209,907 COVID-19 infections and 5,371 deaths.
Greenlee and La Paz are the only counties in the state to reach the minimal threshold for COVID-19 benchmarks for businesses.
The minimal spread category indicates less than 10 cases per 100,000 people, less than 5% positivity rate and less than 5% of hospital visits for COVID-like illness for two consecutive weeks.
Greenlee and La Paz also have reached the recommended benchmarks for resuming traditional in-person learning.
