PHOENIX – The Phoenix Zoo will host another round of Cruise the Zoo events, including Labor Day Weekend.

Cruise the Zoo will be offered Sept. 4-7, Sept. 11-13 and Sept. 25-27.

The event is designed to be a socially-distanced experience for visitors to still enjoy the zoo.

The trail passes by the cheetahs, baboons, mandrills, rhinos, lions, giraffe, zebras, flamingos, tigers, elephants and other exhibits.

The zoo has seen more than 18,000 vehicles attend the event since May, according to a press release.

Vehicles cannot be larger than 266″ L x 81″ W x 74″ H — about the size of a long bed truck.

Tickets are $50 for members and $65 for the general public. They must be purchased online in advance and only 450 are sold per day.

There is an option to add mini donuts, kettle corn, retail items and a souvenir photo.

The event goes from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m., but vehicles must be in line by 11 a.m. to be admitted into the zoo.

The zoo closed for a second time in July due to the coronavirus pandemic but has been offering Cruise the Zoo in place of allowing visitors to roam the facility.

We want to hear from you.
