PHOENIX — An Arizona personal protective equipment company is set to begin mask production this week at a facility in Mesa.
US Power AZ PPE said it will anticipate making about a billion of its reusable 3-ply POWER3 masks per year at the Gateway Technology Commerce Center facility.
The mask production will add about 200 jobs, US Power AZ PPE President Kevin Thorpe said in a press release.
“Our mask is unlike any other on the market because it is designed for everyday extended wear and is also is highly effective for health care professionals that serve on the front lines,” Thorpe said.
The masks can be worn for up to seven days and are designed for easy breathing and to reduce fogging on lenses.
The company said the masks will be available to retailers and distributors some time later this month before becoming available to the general public in September.
Masks will be able to be purchased in adult and child sizes.
More information on the masks can be found on the company’s website.
