Multi-vehicle wreck delays traffic on State Route 51 in Phoenix

PHOENIX – A multi-vehicle wreck delayed traffic on State Route 51 in north Phoenix Monday, authorities said.
An accident had occurred in the southbound lanes of SR 51 near Northern Avenue around 2 p.m., according to ADOT.
The right lane had been blocked until about 4 p.m.

Around 3 p.m., all lanes were open except for the right lane, according to ADOT.
Traffic was initially only getting through on the HOV lane, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
DPS spokesman Bart Graves told KTAR News 92.3 FM in an email that the incident was “basically three separate collisions.”
