PHOENIX — Walk-up and drive-thru swab testing for COVID-19 will be available in Phoenix the next two Saturdays.

Testing will take place on June 20 and 27 from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Desert West Park and Sports Complex.

Those interested in getting tested are being asked to bring their insurance information.

Uninsured patients will be covered under the CARES program, according to a press release.

Anyone that intends to visit the testing site is asked to wear a mask or face covering.

Desert West Park and Sports Complex is located at 6602 W. Encanto Blvd near 67th Avenue and Interstate 10.

“During these difficult times, accessible COVID-19 testing for residents of Phoenix and District 7 is a top priority for my office,” Councilman Michael Nowakowski said in the release.

“It is my hope that this pop-up will provide more access to residents who may not have proper healthcare or be near a medical facility offering testing. … I want to thank city staff and our partners at Equality Health for bringing this site to District 7 and hope that this is the first of many testing sites in my district.”

Nowakowski also asks anyone using public transportation to follow guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
