PHOENIX — An employee at the Fry’s Food and Drug Store at McClintock Drive and Baseline Road tested positive for COVID-19, the company confirmed Friday.

The employee has since been quarantined and isn’t working at the location, a Fry’s spokesperson told KTAR News 92.3 FM in an email.

The company said it has deep cleaned all known or potentially contacted areas and equipment in the store.

“The safety of our facilities, operations, associates, partners, and communities remains our top priority,” a Fry’s spokesperson said.

“We have taken all necessary steps to identify and notify associates of our company who worked closely with the employee at issue during the relevant time frame.”

Fry’s said no further details about the employee would be made available.

The company has more than 100 locations in Arizona.

The Arizona health department reported 293 new coronavirus cases Friday morning and 12 more deaths, increasing the totals to 15,608 and 775.
