Phoenix Housing plans renovation of affordable housing units downtown

PHOENIX – A downtown Phoenix housing location will get a renovation next year.
The Deck Park Vista Apartments will transform 56 affordable housing units into 201 units by Nov. 2023, according to a press release.
The new development will have 126 affordable units and 75 workforce units.
The two-acre property is located near Hance Park at Third and Moreland streets.
There are plans for first floor commercial space, a secured interior courtyard, community room, fitness center, outdoor barbeque area and security cameras.
Native American Connections had the winning proposal which will be presented to the City Council next month to approve the project.
NAC manages 500 units of affordable housing in Phoenix and hosts on-site supportive programs and activities that help residents improve their health and financial stability, according to the release.
The design will be completed next summer with construction starting October 2021. The project is expected to be completed in November 2023.
All current residents will be offered a comparable unit at one of the city’s 13 other senior housing locations that Phoenix Housing owns.
