PHOENIX — A shooting range in North Phoenix will be implementing new health and safety procedures when it reopens on Wednesday.
Ben Avery Shooting Facility will no longer accommodate walk-in customers and will only accept online reservations for one hour intervals at the ranges and clay target center, according to a press release from the Arizona Game and Fish Department.
BASF has been closed since March 20 over safety concerns related to the coronavirus outbreak.
“BASF’s implementation of a new online reservation system is two-fold: We want to maximize the shooting opportunities that this world-class facility has to offer while maintaining common sense health practices,” AZGFD Shooting Sports Branch Chief Mike Raum said in the release.
In accordance with social distancing measures, BASF safety officers will not be offering personalized instruction.
Also, all pistol and rifle shooting must utilize steel targets only; ceasefire periods in which paper targets would typically posted or removed have been prohibited.
BASF’s new practices will only be subject to change in response to additional policies or guidelines established by Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey.
