PHOENIX — The Arizona Department of Health Services will release additional information regarding coronavirus patients within the state beginning Sunday.
AZDHS Director Cara Christ announced during a press conference on Thursday that the additional information will include the following about patients: race and ethnic background, zip code locations, and the age and gender of those who have died due to virus complications.
The enhanced information will be available on the department’s website around noon this Sunday.
“The site will also include the number of hospital beds and ICU beds available and the number of beds in use for COVID-19 treatment,” Christ said.
“We will also be adding additional information to the website about the health of our health care system and as we prepare for the increasing COVID-19 cases.”
The AZDHS website currently lists coronavirus cases by county, age group, gender, number of new cases per week and whether a positive diagnosis was made in a private lab or at the Arizona State Public Health Laboratory.
New coronavirus cases and related deaths are updated daily on AZDHS website around 9 a.m.
Christ also announced the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has granted Arizona an additional $47.5 million to support state and local health departments in their response to the coronavirus outbreak.
AZDHS announced Thursday morning an increase of 292 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the state total to 3,018 with a death toll of 89.
