One child dead following pedestrian-versus-vehicle collision in Scottsdale

PHOENIX — One child was pronounced dead following a vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision in Scottsdale on Saturday morning, according to Scottsdale Fire Department.

The intersection of Hayden and Royal Palm roads was closed for investigation after two people were taken to the hospital.

One, a pediatric patient was listed in critical condition and later pronounced dead.

Initial reports indicated that paramedics were providing CPR to a two-year-old child at the intersection following the crash.

The second person was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

It was not clear if the two patients were related.

None of the ages of either person injured were confirmed by Scottsdale police and no information was given on what happened to the driver of the vehicle.

Scottsdale Police said they will have more information after the investigation is completed.
