PHOENIX — One man is dead and another is in the hospital following a drive-by shooting near 75th Avenue and Thomas Road just after 2 a.m. on Sunday morning.
Police say 24-year-old Gabriel Munoz shot 33-year-old Juan Damian Diaz and another 25-year-old man after following them in a vehicle down 75th Avenue.
The other male was not identified.
Once the victims discovered Munoz was following them, they turned onto a dead-end cul-de-sac where both exited their vehicles and were shot by Munoz.
Diaz was pronounced dead on scene, while the other man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries but is expected to survive, according to authorities.
Police say each victim had their girlfriend in the car, but neither woman was injured during the incident.
Munoz fled the scene after the shooting and was later arrested at his residence and taken into custody at the Maricopa County Jail.
He faces first-degree murder and aggravated assault charges, among other felony charges.
No other information was immediately available.
