PHOENIX — President Donald Trump is headed back to the Valley for a rally as the 2020 election season speeds up.
Trump will visit the Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. People can register online for up to two tickets with each mobile number. The tickets are subject to a first come, first served basis.
Feb. 19 is also the first day of early voting in the Arizona presidential preference election.
Trump only won Arizona by 3.5 points during the last campaign, one of his smallest margins of victory.
After being a strong Republican stronghold, Democrats made inroads in Arizona during the midterms in 2018.
This could be attributed to in part a growing Latino voting-age population and disenchantment among college-educated women in the vast suburbs surrounding Phoenix.
Heading toward the November general elections, Arizona is shaping up to be a battleground state for both the presidency and the U.S. Senate.
Two other cities have been announced so far for rallies, with a stop in Manchester, N.H. and Colorado Springs, Colo. also planned.
