PHOENIX — Ever wanted to feel like an athlete on the Arizona State University football field?
You won’t exactly be scoring touchdowns, but now’s your chance.
Stadium Blitz, presented by former New England Patriot Rob Gronkowski and his foundation, Gronk Nation, is an obstacle course race that allows participants to test their physical limits.
It’s coming to Sun Devil Stadium on Feb. 29.
The course consists of three different parts: race, hustle and blitz. Each portion has five different tests.
In the race segment, participants have five speed-related tests to complete, including hurdles, agility poles and scrambling up stadium stairs.
The hustle section is more about balance, body control and motion. Activities include climbing a 20-foot-tall net, walking a balance beam and throwing a football through a target.
The blitz is strength. Monkey bars, climbing ladders, carrying “blitz” bags through the stairs and pushing weight sleds will put athletes’ muscles to the test.
Racers receive points for every task and portion they complete, and get an extra 2,000 if they finish in under 40 minutes.
Entry costs $70 through Feb. 14, after which the price will increase to $85 and later $100.
Kids ages 7 to 13 are charged $30 through Feb. 14 and up to $40 after.
Children under 7 are not allowed to participate.
So get off the couch, sign up, and get active with your extra day in February.
