PHOENIX – A Lyft driver from Surprise is facing multiple charges after allegedly sexually assaulting a female rider last month.
Kristoffer Mikal Green, 38, was charged with one count of sexual assault, one count of attempted sexual assault and one count of sexual abuse, according to court documents.
He was arrested Jan. 17 after testing showed that DNA found on the victim’s clothing was consistent with Green’s.
According to the police probable cause statement, the victim took a Lyft home from a Scottsdale bar on Dec. 30, 2019, around 2:30 a.m.
The victim accused Green of getting in the back seat and performing sexual acts on her, police said.
The victim said she was able to push Green off of her and tell him no.
When the victim woke up later in the morning, she called the police and agreed to have a forensic sexual assault examination.
Authorities interviewed Green on Jan. 15, when he acknowledged picking the victim up but denied any other physical contact besides holding her hair back after she got sick, according to police.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 27.
