Glendale police looking for suspect after man fatally shot

PHOENIX — Glendale police are searching for a suspect after a man was fatally shot near a bus stop Wednesday morning.

According to police, officers responded to a shooting call near 59th Avenue and Bethany Home Road around 5:30 a.m.

They found Jesse Mitchell, 41, with gunshot wounds. He died from his injuries at the scene.

Police said the suspect had taken off on foot.

The suspect was described as a man in his 30s. Police said he is 6′ to 6’3″ and weighs about 300 pounds.
