PHOENIX — An FBI task force has arrested a suspect who was wanted for the theft of an armored car in Tempe, authorities said Tuesday.
Edwin Jobany Villa, 23, was taken into custody near 59th Avenue and Camelback Road in Phoenix at around 7 p.m. on Monday, according to the FBI.
He was booked on two counts of felony theft and one count each of conspiracy to commit theft and unlawful use of means of transportation.
In photos circulated before his arrest, Villa had dark hair. It was dyed blond in his booking mugshot.
Villa was taken to the 4th Avenue Jail in downtown Phoenix.
Villa allegedly stole a Brinks truck from outside the Costco near Elliot Road and Priest Drive at about noon on Oct. 27.
The truck was later located behind a business about a block away with money missing and nobody operating it.
Brinks offered a $2,500 reward for information leading to the capture of Villa.
The FBI didn’t say whether the reward would be claimed.
