Tempe resident turns home into Halloween and Christmas spectacle
PHOENIX — A Tempe resident has gone the extra mile to get in the holiday spirit.
The home of Jessica Brown and her family near Rural and Warner roads has been transformed into a half-Halloween, half-Christmas spectacle that attracts visitors from across the Valley.
The Nightmare Before Christmas Halloween house features live monsters, holiday-themed props and an assortment of lights.
“My husband and I both grew up loving Halloween and Christmas and had all the family traditions,” Brown said in a city of Tempe video. “We wanted to bring that to our family and our neighborhood.”
The address for the house is 1001 E. El Freda Road.
There’s no charge to visit the house, but Brown is donating toys that are brought by to Valley nonprofit Sojourner House.
She said the best time to come by is around sunset, so that visitors can see the house with daylight and at night.
The house is usually available for viewing until about 10 p.m. each night, according to Brown.
“Anyone who wants to come by, this house is available for them to enjoy,” Brown said.
