PHOENIX — A 20-month-old pulled from a Goodyear pool Friday was hospitalized in critical condition, authorities said.
Tim Wayne, deputy Goodyear Fire chief, said the girl was unaccounted for at a home near Bethany Home and Citrus roads for about 20 minutes.
When crews responded around 7:30 a.m., family members were performing CPR, he said.
“Reports from family state that they had a self-closing door on the backside of the house,” Wayne told KTAR News 92.3 FM.
“No perimeter fencing. However, that self-closing door, in most cases, should be adequate.”
No other information was immediately available.
