Goodyear ranked among top 25 places to live in US
PHOENIX – Money.com recently released a list of the top 100 U.S. cities to live in, and Goodyear checked in at No. 22.
The list took multiple factors into account, including cost of living, diversity, income, and crime.
The West Valley city pulled in the strong rating because of job opportunities, the average commute to downtown Phoenix, median household income and home prices.
“We’re very good at taking care of our city,” Mayor Georgia Lord told KTAR News 92.3 FM on Thursday.

A new Microsoft campus and a Nike manufacturing facility are expected to bring over 500 full-time jobs to the city.
Job employment in the surrounding Maricopa County is up 23.1% and is expected to rise another 7.7% by 2023, according to the article.
Lord also pointed to the landscape as another plus. The city, with a population of nearly 88,000, is surrounded by the Estrella and White Tank mountains.
Goodyear was founded in 1917 by the Goodyear Rubber and Tire Company. The business used the city as a place to grow cotton for its tires.
