PHOENIX – A West Valley suburb is launching a free, family-friendly monthly food and arts festival in October.
Second Saturdays will debut in Old Town Peoria on Oct. 12 and be held the second Saturday of each month through May 2020.
The events will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Washington Street and 83rd Avenue and feature live entertainment, specialty vendors and food options.
“Second Saturdays is a series of events that will feature blocks of art, music and unique vendors in historic Old Town Peoria,” Marylou Stephens, Peoria Arts and Events manager, said in a press release.
“You can drop the kid off and enjoy a date night or take the whole family. We’re excited to show off local talent and create a dining and entertainment experience unlike any other in the Valley.”
The first Second Saturdays will feature food truck options as well as themed pop-up restaurant experiences that cost $30 per person.
For October, there are three pop-up choices: Frank Sinatra’s favorites, “A Taste of the Islands” Hawaiian fare and the “One Night in Paris” French meal.
The debut event will also include the dedication of a new mural outside the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts facing Osuna Park.
