PHOENIX — A Glendale woman was arrested this weekend for allegedly leaving her twin 3-year-old sons alone at their home.
Police said a neighbor on Saturday reported seeing two young children unsupervised in the apartment near 67th Avenue and Bethany Home Road around 6:40 a.m.
When police contacted mother Taylor Gary, 24, she initially told them she had left the children with a baby sitter she hired through an app.
Police said she later admitted the twins were left by themselves so she could go to work.
According to court documents, the boys were locked in their bedroom with no food, water or air-conditioning.
The children were wearing soiled diapers and had been sticking their hands out of a broken window and throwing toys out of it, the documents stated.
Gary was arrested on one count each of endangering the life of a minor and child abuse. She will appear in court Sept. 9.
The Arizona Department of Child Safety took custody of the boys.
