PHOENIX — A man was arrested Sunday evening for allegedly stealing merchandise at the Desert Sky Mall in Phoenix.
Police said they responded to reports of shots fired at the mall near 75th Avenue and Thomas Road around 1 p.m., but they said it was the sound of the glass breaking that people mistook for a gun firing.
Edward Ahumada, 31, and another man allegedly hit the glass display repeatedly with a metal tool, stole property from a store and left in a dark colored vehicle.
The incident caused the mall to be evacuated, according to ABC15.
