PHOENIX — Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center will be opening a new location on June 11 at the campus of Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix.

The cancer treatment center, officially named Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center at University Medical Center Phoenix, will offer patients some of the most advanced treatments in the country.

Disease-specific specialists available in the Valley will be able to provide care to those battling cancer.

“We are happy to be able to provide patients in the central Phoenix area specialized and advanced cancer care close to their home,” said Shiva Birdi, MD, senior physician executive at Banner MD Anderson.

“The new center was designed to improve the experience for our patients while providing excellent care and ease during their emotional journey.”

The new Phoenix location is an extension of the Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center in Gilbert, Ariz. that started in 2011.

Two linear accelerator vaults, an onsite lab and private port lounges are some of the features of the 85,000-square-foot building that has the ability to be expanded in the future.
