Arizona Dragon Boat Festival coming to Tempe this weekend

PHOENIX – The 16th annual Dragon Boat Festival is taking place at Tempe Town Lake this weekend.
The races will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
The festival, hosted by the Arizona Dragon Boat Association, brings hundreds of boating crews from across the nation to compete each year.
The AZDBA brings an ancient Chinese tradition into the modern day and allows thousands of spectators to view the experience.
In addition to the races, the free event will feature martial art demonstrations and live music and performances.
The festival will feature ten different divisions in addition to two races that will benefit the AZ Disabled Sports organization.
The AZDBA has 11 teams from around the state that are always welcoming new members.
