PHOENIX — One person was killed and two more were wounded after a shooting took place in west Phoenix on Monday night, Phoenix police said.
Officers initially responded to a report of a shooting in the area of 4300 W. Bethany Home Road Monday night and found three adult victims.
Chris Romo, a 21-year-old male, died at the scene and a 22-year-old male and 18-year-old female were taken to hospitals for treatment, said Phoenix police spokesman Sgt. Jonathan Howard.
Sgt. Vince Lewis, a spokesman for the Phoenix Police Department, said officers arrested 34-year-old Timothy Elliot Pascale as a suspect in the shooting.
The male was in serious but stable condition and the female was in stable condition Tuesday morning. They both remain hospitalized, Lewis said.
Lewis said Pascale was booked for one count of first-degree murder, one count of a drive-by shooting, two counts of aggravated assault, one count of possession of a weapon by a prohibited possessor and one count of discharging a firearm within city limits.
Police believe the shooting stemmed from a “traffic altercation” between the suspect and the two male victims. The female victim, Lewis said, was walking in the area and was “completely uninvolved in any altercation.”
It was not immediately known whether Pascale has an attorney who could comment on the allegations.
