Big horror movies always seem to result in people playing pranks on their friends and posting the videos online, but fans of the new “It” movie seem to have taken things to a new level.

The internet was flooded with clips of people being terrified by clowns or red balloons on Monday after “It” became a box office smash over the weekend.

The pranks were few and far between prior to the movie. Sure, there were a handful of videos of clowns scaring people that went viral years ago, but those had long since tailed off.

The excitement for “It,” however, has brought those back anew. Things started slowly, with people harmlessly tying red balloons to sewer grates.

For the unaware, the red balloon is basically a sign that the monster in the movie is keeping a watchful eye on you.

But how quickly things changed.

Fans of the new flick showed up to screenings — in full clown makeup — carrying red balloons.

And if that’s not enough nope for you, the terror only escalated for some moviegoers when they left.

Just ask this girl, whose dad was waiting dressed as one of the movie’s unlucky main characters.

Or these poor drive-thru workers.

But there was nothing — NOTHING — that compared to the prank played by a Brazilian hidden camera show.

Sweet dreams and remember: You’ll float too.
