A kidnapping victim from California was spotted at a Starbucks in Goodyear Sunday morning before she was forced to leave with her suspected abductor.
Virginia Paris, 55, was kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend, 52-year-old Joseph Hetzel in Solvang, Calif., at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Around 7:15 a.m. on the 1300 block of North Litchfield Road in Goodyear on Sunday, she gave her name while ordering a coffee drink at Starbucks. After going to the bathroom, she told a female customer she needed help, and Hetzel, who saw the conversation, dragged her out of the coffee shop and drove off with her.
Paris was able to throw her car registration out of the door as Hetzel sped away.
Goodyear Police say the vehicle they are searching for is a black 2015 Chrysler 200 with a California license plate of 7NGE514.
Paris is a white female who is 5-foot-6 and 150 pounds. She has brown hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing a light colored shirt.
Hetzel is a 6-foot-2, 195-pound male with hazel eyes and brown hair. He was last seen wearing a light blue collared shirt. He is considered armed and dangerous.
The car was last seen headed eastbound entering Interstate 10 headed toward Phoenix.
With the help from the FBI, the sheriff’s office and police are searching for the kidnapping victim and suspect.
