PHOENIX — The monsoon storm in the Phoenix area Thursday evening caused traffic delays and took out poles along with residents’ power.
It also took out a big chunk of the roof at a strip mall in Phoenix.
The Phoenix Fire Department said they responded to a water flow indication at the Mor Furniture Store at a strip mall near the cross-section of McDowell Road and 44th Street.
Part of the roof, approximately 25 square feet, had collapsed and a “significant amount of water” flooded the store and its neighbor, Food City.
No one was injured in the incident, but it looks like a lot of repair work is now required.
