A bar is up for auction as Macayo's is getting set to relocate.

You walk into the room and a giant sign that reads ‘Welcome to Macayo’s’ is hanging above the bar. You look to the right and see a Macayo’s beer sign. You look to the left and see your pool table.

Wait, what?

Oh, that’s right, you aren’t in the famous Mexican restaurant at all. In fact, you are in your own basement that is full of old Macayo’s belongings you bought at an auction.

That’s exactly how someone might be confused when stepping into their own home next week, as Macayo’s is auctioning off plenty of possessions from their restaurant on Central Avenue right now.

Refrigeration cabinets, signs, sculptures and even a hostess stand are up for bid at an online auction, as the eatery is relocating down the street.

According to the Phoenix Business Journal, the restaurant will be downsizing from 22,000 square feet to 5,000 square feet, but will add a patio area that they did not have before.

In July, Macayo’s was recognized by PureWow.com as the most iconic restaurant in the state of Arizona. It has been open for 70 years, has 12 locations in Arizona, and two in Las Vegas.
