PHOENIX — The entire Phoenix area received a pretty delicious gift this week: Giordano’s, a famous deep dish Chicago pizza joint, officially opened its first Arizona location Tuesday.
The new pizzeria is located near 83rd Avenue and Bell Road in Glendale. The business is open from 4-10 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 4-11 p.m. on Fridays and 2-9 p.m. on Saturdays. It is closed Sundays.
Phoenix, today is the day! We are open in Arrowhead and can’t wait to serve you Chicago’s best stuffed deep dish pizza!

The chain has 62 stores across seven states.
Giordano’s began testing the Arizona market two years ago, when it sent a food truck loaded with delicious pies to Sloan Park, the spring training home of the Chicago Cubs. It was the first time its food truck left the state of Illinois.
The Phoenix area is becoming a magnet for Chicago pizza chains. Earlier this year, rival chain Lou Malnati’s opened its doors near Central Avenue and Camelback Road. The pizzeria is reportedly looking to add at least eight more locations throughout the Valley of the Sun.
Owner Marc Malnati told the Phoenix Business Journal that the chain’s first Arizona location has been a huge success.
Gino’s East is also planning a Phoenix location.
Last year, Phoenix was ranked one of the best cities in the country for its pizza scene by TripAdvisor.
