Glendale Police Department Sgt. Scott Waite said the shooting was not random.
“The early indications, from what we can tell, was that the suspect and victims were known to each other,” he told media.
The victims were inside the Walmart and were leaving when they were shot, Waite said, adding that investigators are unsure if the suspects waited for the victims to exit.
Police said the suspects were seen leaving the scene in a vehicle. One suspect is between 25-30 years old and believed to be the shooter and the other suspect is a teenager.

At least one person — who appeared to be conscious — was seen being rolled away on a stretcher.
News helicopter footage showed a large number of police vehicles outside the entrance of the store. Officers were seen taping off the scene on the store’s south entrance.
The store and surrounding parking lot were placed on lockdown after the shooting. Officers were searching for any potential suspects.
