PHOENIX — Drivers in northwest Phoenix will have to plan a new route to work for the next few days.
A section of the Loop 303 that stretches west of Interstate 17 will be closed Friday through Wednesday for filming of part of the fifth “Transformers” movie, state transportation spokesman Steve Elliott said.
The Arizona Department of Transportation will close Loop 303 between I-17 and Lake Pleasant Parkway from early Friday until 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.
“Transformers: The Last Knight,” starring Mark Wahlberg, is scheduled for release in 2017.
While the Autobots and Decepticons speed along the loop, traffic will be rerouted.
ADOT officials said drivers that need to access the westbound Loop 303 can take I-17 to westbound State Route 74 and then use southbound Lake Pleasant Parkway to reach the freeway.
Eastbound Loop 303 drivers can exit at Lake Pleasant Parkway and travel north to eastbound SR 74 to connect with I-17 and bypass the closure.
