PHOENIX — Summer and 100-degree weather is fast approaching.

However, this week the Valley will see some cooler temperatures, thanks to a few weather systems moving in.  Meteorologist Bianca Hernandez with the National Weather Service said it could very well be one of the last weeks of cooler weather.

“Especially now that we’re going to start getting into summer, we’ll start seeing temperatures warm up,” Rodriguez said. “That’s the potential for the rest of the spring into the summer.”

Rodriguez said to look for heavy wind Monday and potential blowing dust and reduced visibility when traveling.

“We have a series of low-pressure systems that are expected to move through our area, throughout this week. With that system, we’re expecting really strong winds on Monday,” said Rodriguez.

Rodriguez said winds are expected to be around 20 to 30 miles per hour with winds gusting to almost 50 miles per hour. She said bring inside anything you do not want to be blown away.

There is a both a wind advisory and Red Flag (Fire Weather) Warning in effect. The wind advisory is in effect until Monday evening, while the Red Flag Warning is in effect during 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Monday.

On Thursday, there is a chance of rain as another system rolls in.

“The system that’s coming in Thursday, we have a little bit of a slight chance for precipitation that day, and then temperatures will have a nice little cool down. Temperatures will primarily be in the upper 70s, lower 80s, so that will be some nice relief,” Rodriguez said.

Temperatures will increase into the mid and upper 80s over the weekend.

Really? Do they have any evidence to back this up? I think they're just speculating.
