Being the 12th man is always a special experience, but some NFL stadiums make it even more meaningful than others.
Whether you’re a longtime NFL fan or you just want to soak in the raucous atmosphere of America’s favorite sport, here’s a list of 10 stadiums that will exceed your expectations.
Green Bay Packers – Lambeau Field
Also called the “Frozen Tundra,” Lambeau Field is as sacred as it gets for football fans. Legendary Vince Lombardi was once at home on its sidelines, and its 1950s-style stadium feel hearkens back to the good ol’ days. Lambeau Field is a must-see for any NFL fan’s bucket list.
Dallas Cowboys – AT&T Stadium
The Dallas Cowboys have always been the flashiest team in American sports, and their stadium keeps up the appearance. It has a retractable roof, an HD jumbotron that spans from one 20-yard line to the other, and seats 105,000 with standing room.
Denver Broncos – Sports Authority Field at Mile High
Since its inaugural game in 2001, the Denver Broncos have never played in front of an empty seat at the Sports Authority Field at Mile High. This extends a sellout streak that began in 1969, according to the stadium website. And don’t forget the view of the Rocky Mountains in the distance.
Kansas City Chiefs – Arrowhead Stadium
If your mouth doesn’t start watering just thinking about the barbecue at the tailgate party, just know that’s not the only treat you’re in for. Arrowhead Stadium holds the Guinness World Record for loudest crowd noise at a stadium.
San Francisco 49ers – Levi’s Stadium
Welcome to the future! We wouldn’t put it past Silicon Valley to make Levi’s Stadium the most technologically advanced in the league, according to Time. Not only does it boast ultra-fast Wi-Fi but it also an app that helps you get around the place, lets you order food and drinks from your seat and gives you instant replays.
Pittsburgh Steelers – Heinz Field
As views go, Heinz Field has one of the best in the league. From the north side, you’ll get a picturesque panorama of the Allegheny River and downtown Pittsburgh. Just be sure to catch a game here early in the season because winters there are merciless.
Minnesota Vikings – U.S. Bank Stadium
As you can imagine, attending a Vikings home game in the winter is an indoor activity. The U.S. Bank Stadium, however, makes you feel like you’re outside. Opened in the summer of 2016, the stadium boasts a translucent ceiling and walls, allowing natural light in to enhance the experience.
New York Jets/New York Giants – MetLife Stadium
Opened in 2010, MetLife Stadium is the most expensive stadium in the league, according to ESPN, clocking in at $1.6 billion. It’s also the only NFL stadium to host two teams, and can be easily converted back and forth in a matter of hours.
Seattle Seahawks – CenturyLink Field
The crowd at CenturyLink Field once took the crown for loudest crowd roar from Arrowhead Stadium, so you know you’re going to be in for a fun time there. What’s more, the canyon-like design and view into downtown Seattle make it a unique experience for anyone.
Chicago Bears – Soldier Field
Originally built in 1924, this stadium is steeped in American history. Nestled between the skyscrapers of downtown Chicago and the vast expanse of Lake Michigan, Soldier Field remains an intimidating venue for visiting teams.
Arizona Cardinals – University of Phoenix Stadium
Arizona fans won’t need to travel far to get to this super venue. Sports Illustrated included it in their ‘Best New Stadiums’ list of the 2000’s and hosted the Fiesta Bowl and Super Bowl XLII in 2008. The 1.7-million-square-foot stadium may host the Arizona Cardinals, but is named for a college without a football team. Nonetheless, football fans love watching the Cardinals under a starlit sky with a retractable roof to keep the temps cool in triple digit weather.
Depending on where you live, there may be plenty of opportunities to catch a professional sports game.
