Sept. 21, 2015 [RE-BROADCAST OF 7/25/2011]
Tony Stromsness, 37, was riding his bike along Baseline Road at 17th Street around 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, when a vehicle hit him from behind.
The vehicle took off, leaving Stromsness with a broken collarbone and head injuries.
Phoenix Police Sgt. Darren Burch said if the driver would have stayed at the scene it may have been a non-criminal matter.
Now, it’s a felony crime.
Stromsness’ mother, Marilyn, said it’s difficult to know that someone would leave her son there after he was hit.
“I hope someone comes forward, I hope they have enough decency to do that. I think Tony deserves an apology. He was hurt.”
