Three people were arrested in an ICE protest in Tucson on Wednesday evening, according to the Tucson Police Department.

PHOENIX — Three people were arrested in an anti-ICE protest in Tucson on Wednesday evening, according to authorities.
The protest outside an ICE office started peacefully, the Tucson Police Department said.

However, they eventually blocked a roadway, threw balloons filled with paint at masked security officers and drew anti-ICE graffiti, according to the Associated Press.
The outlet reported that a security guard sprayed a chemical irritant at protestors after people in masks holding makeshift shields inched closer to guards.
A protestor fired an even larger volume of chemical irritant at security officers and a protestor threw a barricade at a security officer in response, the Associated Press said. The security officers, who have not been identified as either federal or security agents, pulled back.
Authorities respond to ICE protest in Tucson
The Arizona Department of Public Safety issued a response to Wednesday’s ICE protest, saying that it supports peaceful assemble but will crack down on criminal activity.

U.S. Attorney for the District of Arizona Timothy Courchaine said that while people are constitutionally allowed to peacefully protest, many entities are abusing that right.
“There are entities who are using that right as a cover to perpetrate violence, rioting and destruction in our streets,” Courchaine said in a Thursday announcement. “That behavior cannot be tolerated.”

I understand those angles and they are valid to a point. The LE on the ground confronting and absorbing the violence are just following orders, doing a job and are pretty much innocent. But if they know their orders are unlawful, what then?
Your second point: what if the colonists 250 years ago had taken that attitude and rolled over to British authoritarians? I'm guessing the Union Jack flag would be flying here today.
I know from your comments over the past few years that you are vehemently opposed to UC1, his fascist handlers and the MAGA blind. My fear is that unless the people in this country put up strong enough opposition, we will be living in Trumpmerica soon. Maybe that's at the ballot box (though we saw denial of the election in 2020), as I said, I can only hope. In the meantime, meaningful (not necessarily violent) protests are all we have.
It’s not the exercising of protest that is an issue. By all means, protest. It’s the principle of the matter. If these other countries are so great, then why on earth did they come here waving a flag from another country? It is ironic, no? You’re correct. This is their right but it sure is not a good optic at all. Too many people have fought and died for this country. Obviously my opinion but that’s how I see it.
